A new look for musical reinvention

Kerris Duffy is a Scottish musician whose upcoming project - Karys - needed a new logomark to set it apart from their previous work. Their new identity needed to reflect their influences, such as futuristic typography and mythical illustration, and work across printed materials, social media, and for small scale including ticket designs.

PROCESS
As with any development process, I created numerous sketches and rough options which I later whittled down and developed into 3 routes.

One consideration throughout the process was thinking about how the ‘K’ could work alone for very small scale applications, such as the profile image on social media.

 


PROCESS
Following the client feedback, I worked on a variety of options which now combined the ‘star’ of option 2 with the lettering style of option 3.

 


PROCESS
The chosen option was then tweaked and refined, before being created in a range of colour ways.
