The absence of women in graphic design

This work is a study of the role of women in 21st century graphic design, and their absence within the historical canon. A particular point of interest was the sudden drop in female practitioners once they have left education and why women go on to be under-represented in the industry, despite now making up more than 50% of students on UK graphic design courses.

This final letterpressed format was exhibited as part of the A+ exhibition in London.

The piece looked at two very different designers as case studies - Cipe Pineles and Sheila Levrant de Bretteville.
